This view couldn’t be seen until I pulled off the park road. The landscape opened up in front of me and drew me into nature and a scene that threatened to rain.

In the early morning I drove to this state park and saw this scene near the boat dock. It was the middle of May I went early to the park to paint in the early light and to paint before the park was filled with children enjoying May field trips!

I drove to the park as the sun was rising and painted this green winter scene.

I set up for this painting in a side path at Fort Harrison. Â While I was painting, rain was threatening. Â After I got the first block in of the painting complete, I took a break to look at my weather app on my phone and saw that there was a large storm moving through Indianapolis.
There was a light fog in the air and it was beautiful to look towards the sun. Â I pulled over in a park and painted this scene from my car.
I love to watch the light shine through trees, and I was drawn to the glow reflected underneath this tree. Â This was the second painting of the morning.
