Every evening and morning, from season to season, there are different color schemes in nature. Â On this particular evening the water was silvery and metalic against a blue liquid sky.
It was a beautiful afternoon and I found shade under the back of my car. Â On the other side of the road was the grass sand dune and beyond that — the water.

In the evening I was able to get down to the beach below the cottage that we were staying at. The sun was low and there was a golden reflection from the bank onto the water. A fallen tree and the tops of posts in the water finished off the composition.

It was an early morning and the stillness of the area surrounded me. At one point a couple came and took a dip in the lake. I thought it was too cold and they seemed to think so too as they hurried back to their car and drove away.

It started to rain just as we were setting up our easels and we were able to seek shelter in a covered picnic area. My water soluable oil paints are not friends with the rain, so I was glad for the shelter.

It was a sunny beautiful morning, and I love painting with my feet in the sand. I found a spot where shadow of one sand dune gave me a view of another dune. The color of the water was a beautiful blue that almost feels unreal in its intensity.

Another study of the water and how the evening light reflects and shines through the waves.

This little painting was started outside on the back porch of the house we were renting for the week, but I was chased inside by the rain. Â While water and oil do not mix, my water soluable oils will be affected by the rain. There was a large picture window that I could look through to continue the painting with the same scene in front of me.
While my husband went for a walk, I painted this painting just before sunset.
