Most of my paintings this trip were done in the morning or evening, but this one shows a lot of the pink in the mountain.
Here is a view of Jenny Lake with the plain and distant mountains behind it in the Grand Teton National Park.
When I go hiking I like to take a simple watercolor kit with me. Â This includes a few brushes, a small water bottle to dip my brush in (that way I take all of the dirty water back out of the park with me!), a small water color palatte, paper towels and plastic bag to put them in (again- taking everything out with me), and a 6″ by 9″ or 7″ by 10″ gummed watercolor pad. Â Here is a sketch on a trail my husband and I hiked this past summer.
Working on the spot outdoors, one has to deal with weather. Â When I painted this painting, there were low clouds that were constantly moving in and out of my view of the mountain.
