Plein-air: When a Studio Painter steps out of the Studio

In June Jessica Green, an artist friend of mine, and I participated in a paint out for the first time.  Here are the two paintings I made.

Amish Barn web editedgaragewebI enjoyed painting the twisted leaning tree and the colors in the wood of the barn in Amish Barn, the first painting.  In the latter painting, I was attracted to the shades of whites in the garage, barn, and sky.

A note about the author

is a visual artist based in Indianapolis. She is drawn to natural, organic objects and portrays them with oil on textured surfaces. Often, she presents her subject in dynamic still life with a shift of time through movement or growth-decay.
