Early morning at a nearby park. The pattern of the circle of light in the tree is what attracted me to this scene.

Another chance to paint with my feet in the sand. Â It shouldn’t matter what your feet are in while you paint, but there is something so comfortable and relaxing about having your feet in sand. Â I would back up to see the painting from further away and then go back to my position at the easel. Â My feet would dig back into the sand and I picked up my tool of brush or knife again.
The pattern of the clouds drew me into the scene on the edge of the water.
It was early morning and I saw this scene on a small lake as I drove by. Â I cam back and parked and worked quickly to try to capture the colors that were changing slower then usual at this time of morning due to the cloud cover.

On the side of the road was an eroding sand dune and I was fascinated by the roots of trees that had been revealed when the ground around them eroded away.

When the sun first came up there was beautiful color around this tree. Â This tree was a part of several others that stood at the edge of the beach. Â The first day I had found shelter from the wind and sun underneath it.

I seem to prefer the scenes where I am looking into the light. Here the low sun was blocked by the foreground trees. I was interested in the colors with the little bit of red from the buds of the foreground tree and the dense thick green behind it.
