This May, the Arts Council of Indianapolis is moving offices from the Guaranty Building at 20 N. Meridian Street to 924 N. Pennsylvania St. Their new location, called the Metzger Building, is an art deco building covered in white tile and built in 1928. It once housed a roller skating rink.

I spent an hour today taking in the show, A Working History of Things to Come, works by Eric Hudgins in Wug Laku’s Studio and Garage. The show is aptly titled, as the paintings build upon themselves and foreshadow his current work. Overall, Hudgin creates pieces that have interweaving patterns, ideas, and colors. ...

My three latest butterfly works, After Thistles, Fluttering Cosmopolitan, and Cynthesis will be on display this Saturday, October 19th from 8pm to 2am at Oranje, a contemporary art & music event. Wug Laku of Wug Laku’s Studio and Garage is representing my work at booth 17.
Dean Johnson Gallery is hosting a black and white photography show during the month of July called. . . Black & White. The opening is this upcoming Friday, July 3, 5 – 9 p.m. It will be part of the July IDADA First Friday Gallery Tour. If you are not able to make to the opening, you can stop by during gallery hours, Monday-Friday 11am-5pm.
First Friday for May is quickly approaching and there are several places around town that my art work can be found. I have one piece each in three group shows.
While visiting the Stutz Artist Open House on Friday night, I got my temporary fill of art. Of all the artists that I saw that night, I am going to mention the following few: Caroline Mecklin, Derek Powell, Vicky Shaffer White, Mark Pack, and the artists in Suite B240.
I was introduced to the work of Caroline Mecklin two years ago when I visited the Stutz Artist Open House for the first time. I have not forgotten her work, and was looking forward to seeing her studio again this year. Her dynamic figures are rich with the life she sees in her live models.
