On my way back from the middle of nowhere, I stopped and started this little painting of a tree. It was a beautiful day.
There was an old log cabin in a city park. Although the day was grey, the yellows in the landscaped popped.

The light was even with the heavy clouds closing the landscape in. It was a very cold day and I painted this study from my car.

I worked on emphasizing the underlying colors and played with texture in this image. It was a very windy day and I had to hold on to the easel to keep everything from being blown away!
The scene glowed and I focused on the underlying patterns.
