It was a beautiful afternoon and I found shade under the back of my car. Â On the other side of the road was the grass sand dune and beyond that — the water.

When the sun first came up there was beautiful color around this tree. Â This tree was a part of several others that stood at the edge of the beach. Â The first day I had found shelter from the wind and sun underneath it.

It was a windy afternoon and the sky threatened rain. This little blue boat was nestled on a distant pier amongst a few larger boats.

In the evening I was able to get down to the beach below the cottage that we were staying at. The sun was low and there was a golden reflection from the bank onto the water. A fallen tree and the tops of posts in the water finished off the composition.

We hiked up to a lighthouse this morning and on the way back we went down to this cove so that I could paint and my family could enjoy the beach. Â I was able to prop my palatte box on my shoes and backpack.
