The sky was beautiful and the contrast and reflection made by the remains of the wooden posts interested me. Â It was a cold morning and I was bundled up to paint.

Another chance to paint with my feet in the sand. Â It shouldn’t matter what your feet are in while you paint, but there is something so comfortable and relaxing about having your feet in sand. Â I would back up to see the painting from further away and then go back to my position at the easel. Â My feet would dig back into the sand and I picked up my tool of brush or knife again.
I seem to prefer the scenes where I am looking into the light. Here the low sun was blocked by the foreground trees. I was interested in the colors with the little bit of red from the buds of the foreground tree and the dense thick green behind it.

In the early morning there are very few people around.  I put on my layers of clothes  and set up my easel, hoping that I was judging the light and shade right, because the sun hadn’t yet risen.  There were a few fishermen at the lake and as I worked I could hear the sounds of people waking up in the campground nearby.
