Another Close Up of the Blue Morph butterfly abstract in progress.
Another close up crop of the texture. From a distance the colors meld to blue, but there is an energy and vibration in the color.
Here is an even closer look at the texture I have added to the inside wings of my current large butterfly abstract that is in progress. The inside wing is “blue” but this close up crop shows all the other colors that are in the paint that can be seen when looking at the small details!
Here is a distorted crop of one of the butterfly abstracts that I am currently working on. I have worked through some of the value and base color decisions. The entire canvas is about 40″ by 60.”
Come see the recent painting below in my studio (Studio B350) on April 25th and April 26th 2014 at the Stutz Open House.
This painting, finished about two weeks ago, and is about 4.5 feet high and about 3.5 feet wide. It was inspired by the White Peacock butterfly.
