See my work up close at next First Friday, May 2

As part of your upcoming First Friday ritual, be sure to stop by the Wheeler Arts Community. They are having their annual Spring Open House this May 2nd.

Not only will my work (and me) will be across the atrium from the entrance and to the left, but you will be able to browse and interact with over forty resident and guest artists, visit with the resident artists in their studios, listen to live music and take in good food and drink. Indianapolis International Film Festival will also feature a “best of” short film compilation in the community theatre. Admission is free. I’d like to thank the Wheeler Arts Community for allowing me to participate in their open house and I hope to see you there!

WHEN: 5:30-10:30pm, May 2, 2008

WHERE: The The Wheeler Arts Community is located at 1035 East Sanders Street, south of Fountain Square proper, behind Bud’s Groceries.

I have always been drawn to natural, organic objects and choose to portray them with oil on textured surfaces. Often, I present my subject in "dynamic still life" with a shift of time through movement or growth-decay. I am originally from the rust-belt city of Rockford, Illinois. I left the manufacturing town to study fine art at Asbury College and find inspiration among the rolling hills and forests of rural Kentucky. Although consistently representational, I strive to create subtlety layered visual and philosophical metaphors. In 2005, I returned to the country's heartland where I am active in the local art community of Indianapolis, Indiana. Next to oil painting, my greatest passion is helping others appreciate art by teaching private classes.
